Staff Laptop Usage

Staff members are welcome to utilize personal laptops and computers at any of Johnsburg School District's facilities.  Our network can be accessed by hardwired connection (plugging into a wall) or via wireless connection.  To connect to the Johnsburg Wireless network you will need the WPA/WPA2 password which can be obtained by contacting your Learning Center.  

To access your individual user shares (H Directories) on your personal computer, please contact the iTech Help Desk via email for instructions. H Directories can only be accessed from within District buildings at the current time.  Remote connections from home are only supported for those staff members who require this type of access for their position.  Please contact the Director of Instructional Technology for more information if you are in need of this type of access.

Use of Macintosh Computers in the District
 Staff members are able to utilize Macintosh Computers in the District in the same way that they can utilize Windows-based computers.  However, if you would like to utilize Océ printers in the District, there is a process that you must complete.  The process (provided by Paul Sample) is as follows:

  1. Download the Océ driver for Mac OS  X 10.6 Snow Leopard 
  2. Mount it to your desktop but do not install it from the desktop.
  3. Apple >> System Preferences >> Printer & Fax
  4. Click the + 
  5. Select the IP Tab
  6. Enter ip adress of printer
  7. Queue- type print
  8. Give it a name
  9. Print Using >> Select Other
  10. Navigate through the directories until you find the mounted installer and double-click it.
  11. Then Click the  + 
  12. The duplex checkbox should be checked prior to completing the wizard.
