Spring Parent-Teacher Conference Event Feedback

The vision of Johnsburg School District prioritizes the need to form and maintain school, family and community partnerships. Parent-Teacher Conferences is one method of maintaining these partnerships through the promotion of dialogue between teachers and parents regarding their students’ academic progress. To assist school and district leaders in improving the parent-teacher conference process, please share your responses to a brief electronic survey.

Spring Parenting Seminar Series

As part of the District's continued commitment to educate our parents and community members, the Student Services Department has coordinated several evening presentations on the topic of parenting.  For each of these presentations, childcare will be provided, so we hope to see many of you join us as we welcome some great speakers to the District!

Board Commendations January 24, 2012

Administrators and Teachers – Institute Day Activities – Derek Straight asked the Board to join with him in commending our teachers and administrators for their efforts during the recent institute day activities. He noted to the Board that the day that the day focused on differentiation of instruction and that teachers were split into groups so they had the opportunity to access the tools that were being recommended for their classrooms.

Upcoming Pre-Kindergarten Registration and Screening

Johnsburg School District 12 will hold registration for all children who are three, four or five years of age, and who have not yet entered kindergarten. It will take place at Ringwood School Primary Center on Tuesday, March 6th and Wednesday, March 7th, according to the following schedule:

Tuesday, March 6, 2012
1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.
5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

Please Share With Us Your Thoughts as we Plan for the Future

All parents, students and community members were invited to join the Board of Education and members of our District staff during our first ever "State of the District" presentation on Tuesday, January 26 ,2012 in the Johnsburg High School Auditorium. During our presentation we celebrated the recent successes of our students, faculty and staff, and updated the community on the current state of the District. Some areas that we focused on included:

Board Commendations January 10, 2012

Illinois State Scholars – Kevin Shelton asked the Board to join with him in commending the twenty Johnsburg High School students who were named as Illinois State Scholars. He noted that the Illinois Student Assistance Commission selected the students at the end of their junior year on the basis of their test scores and class rank. The Board commended the students for their academic achievements.

Have a Safe and Wonderful Holiday Season!

As a reminder to all of our families, school will resume at normal times on Wednesday, January 4, 2012.  If your child will not be able to attend school on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 due to illness or a scheduling conflict, please remember to contact your child's school office prior to school of Wednesday.
